NO SLEEPING celebrates the photographic impulse to commemorate and preserve, while ruminating on futures lost. The shapeshifting nature of grief guides this experiential, multi-sensory lecture and responsive performance, with an array of devices that use light in a photographic manner (historic, low tech, and the technology of now), to occupy rooms and bedrooms of historic homes where someone remembered may have dreamt and slept.

Through collage, assemblage, and film, David Henry and Sue Murad explore the shifts in visual perception between a figure at rest and a figure in motion. They engage with the impact of time (suspended, manipulated, and real) on their collection of images, objects, and choreographic prompts.

Inspired by the architecture, history, and community of Boston’s oldest church known for its role in the American Revolution, a group of artists and dancers inhabit a site that is both a National Historic Landmark and an active Episcopal parish. For one year they follow the site’s daily rhythms, and offer slight alterations of actions and practices traditionally embedded in the space.

The Fado Tables 2022
On the Table Off the Table is a series of commissioned performance works engaging with the table as context, stage, and trope. Aspiring to aesthetic neutrality or demanding attention as a chosen object, the table reappears throughout the history of performance, at times taking center stage, at other times hiding in plain sight.
